CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A GREEN JACKS BAITBALL
Hola #PelagicHumans! On November 26th we departed from San José del Cabo at 11am. We spotted some Common Bottlenose dolphins while out sailing, which was a great start – we really love to see wild dolphins while out at sea !
During our daily trip, Pelagic Safari crew and customers spotted the fantastic behaviour of a group of around 30 dolphins of different species : The striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba, The Common Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) and The pantropical spotted dolphin (Stenella attenuata) as well as more than 100 tunas and one silky shark (Carcharhinus falciformis) all herding a huge school of green jacks into a tight bait ball and feasting on the fish! Our customers were able to get up close to the action and experience this amazing event!
We were able take some amazing shots, as the visibility was perfect and the ocean conditions were flat. It was an incredible experience!
We had a beautiful day in our favourite place on earth, the open ocean, and can’t wait for the next adventure to come!
