We don’t have to go far these days to find amazing wildlife in Los Cabos! All week we’ve seen adult humpback whales around Cabo San Lucas!
Most of our sightings have been starting less than one quarter mile from Marina Fundarores.
Yesterday we had gorgeous ocean conditions and many humpback whales. We had an encounter with a mother and a calf, of the whale’s own volition. We have been approaching with caution, as always, and it just happens that sometimes whales get curious about the boats. We always maintain very respectful distances and are attentive to their behavior, in order to avoid causing stress to the animals. The mother and her calf were super special!
We realized that the both the mother and her calf each had one whole fin that was white! Therefore, we called her “Blanca Nieves”. It was preatty easy to see them, as their white fins where shinning through the ocean surface!!! It was so beautiful!
We also had groups of 2-3 whales at a time, displaying surface behaviors such as breaching and fin/pec slaps. Many of them came close to the boat.
We also had some really close views at beautiful humpbacks spouting and fluking up.
You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
