Another day for the record books!
Once again it was a cold and windy day , the surface of the water was rough and the swell was big, but after yesterdays sighting we headed back to the pacific where we had last seen the sperm whales, hoping that luck would be on our side today. It took some time, but there they were the pod of sperm whales cruising slowly on the surface. They were barely moving. We waited in awe from the boat as they socialized in the water, We even got to see one spy hopping.
After a while, We shut off the engine and dropped the hydrophone in the water. The they were volcalizing and it was amazing to hear! The sperm whales are the loudest animals on the planet. They make clicking sounds at a decibel level of 236.
This was amazing day we will never forget!
